Before joining The Times, she worked with Agence France-Presse covering the Middle East and later covering the United Kingdom, including Northern Ireland.

Ms. Boshnaq was invited by the University's UNESCO Chair as part of a series of meetings where the UNESCO Chair invites notable speakers to share their stories about their lives with students in an effort to motivate them and enhance their aspirations for the future.

Boshnaq spoke about the power of press photos and their role in conveying the truth. She also talked about her experience as a photo editor at the New York Times, and referred to the factors that contributed to the development of her character as a journalist.

Furthermore, she encouraged photographers, especially female photographers to advance their skills and embrace possibilities, pointing out that she studied MA in international relations because she believed that any photo editor should have a thorough understanding of the international situation.

Students from the departments of Communication and Public Relations, Radio and Television, and Communication and Digital Media as well as a number of An-Najah's academic and administrative staff participated in the event.
